In the 1930s, while recovering from a severe attack of pneumonia, Masanobu Fukuoka experienced a moment of satori or personal enlightenment.
At the time of his revelation, Fukuoka was living in a Japan that was abandoning its traditional farming methods and adopting Western agriculture, economic and industrial models. He saw how this trend was driving the Japanese even further from a oneness with nature, and how destructive and polluting those practices were. As a result, he quit his job as a research scientist and returned to his father’s farm on Shikoku determined to restore the land to a condition that would enable nature’s original harmony to prevail. To Fukuoka, farming was a spiritual path.
Through 30 years of refinement he was able to develop a “do-nothing” method of farming. Without soil cultivation such as plowing or tilling, chemical fertilizers, pesticides, weeding, pruning, machinery or compost, Fukuoka was able to produce high-quality fruit, vegetables and grains with yields equal to or greater than even large commercial farms.
In his 60′s, Fukuoka documented what he had seen and done. In 1975 his first book “One Straw Revolution” was released and has had a profound impact on agriculture and human consciousness all over the world.

Dock Ellis was the baseball player who in 1970 pitched a no-hitter for the Pittsburgh Pirates while peak-tripping on LSD. Ellis died last year. In his honor, James Blagden and Chris Isenberg animated Ellis’s retelling of his acid adventure on the mound.

Esquerita was the stage name of singer, songwriter and pianist Eskew Reeder Jr. He was born in Greenville, South Carolina, on November 20, 1935, and died in Harlem on October 23, 1986, of AIDS. He is credited with influencing rock and roll pioneer Little Richard, though the extent and nature of Reeder’s influence or vice-versa is uncertain.

An elected bishop of Antioch in the year 260 A.D., Paul of Samosata aroused controversy with his monarchianist teachings. In 269, seventy bishops, priests and deacons assembled at Antioch and deposed him as bishop and elected Dominus as his successor.
Paul’s teaching, which emphasized the oneness of God, taught that Jesus was born a mere man, but that at his baptism he was infused with the divine Logos or word of God. Hence, Jesus was seen not as God-become-man but as man-become-God.

His influence reached through the fashion, club and art worlds in the 80s and 90s to impact, amongst others, Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Boy George, Antony and the Johnsons, John Galliano, the Scissor Sisters, David LaChapelle, Lady GagA plus numerous Nu-Rave bands and nightclubs in London and New York which arguably perpetuated his avant garde ideas.
Web Bot, or the Web Bot Project, refers to an Internet bot software program that is claimed to be able to predict future events by tracking keywords entered on the Internet. It was created in 1997, originally to predict stock market trends. The creator of the Web Bot Project, Cliff High, along with his associate George Ure, who call themselves “The Time Monks“, keep the technology and algorithms largely secret and sell the predictions via their website.
The Web Bot works by using a form of the Wisdom of Crowds. Spiders search the internet for about 300,000 keywords with emotional context and record the preceding and following words to create a “snapshot.” Through this, the technology is claimed to be able to examine the collective unconscious of the world as a whole. It is thus said to be able to predict catastrophic events 60 to 90 days in advance.
The Web Bot is claimed to have predicted several events prior to them occurring, most notably the September 11 attacks and the 2003 Northeastern United States blackout.

In Hinduism, Kalki is the tenth and final Maha Avatara (great incarnation) of Vishnu who will come to end the present age of darkness and destruction known as Kali Yuga. The origins of the name probably lie in the Sanskrit word “kalka” which refers to dirt, filth, or foulness and hence denotes the “destroyer of foulness,” “destroyer of confusion,” “destroyer of darkness,” or “annihilator of ignorance.”
Shree Veera Brahmendra Maha Swami, writing about 1,000 years ago in “Divya Maha Kala Jnana” (literally: “Divine Knowledge of the Time”) claims that he would arrive when the Moon, Sun, Venus and Jupiter have entered the same sign; such occurrences are not rare and the next is expected in the year 2012 or afterwards.
